Place Louis Riel Suite Hotel – Louis Riel was born in 1844, and before his 26th birthday, he had negotiated for, then founded, the province of Manitoba, the fifth province to enter the Canadian Confederation. Unfortunately, less than a month after his 41st birthday, he was hung for treason, having led the people of the Northwest in their defense against the Canadian military. His name now has an eternal place in Canadian history, and one of Winnipeg’s finest hotels also bears his name.
The Place Louis Riel Suite Hotel is a superbly appointed boutique hotel in the heart of Winnipeg. In fact, this hotel is full of pleasant surprises. From the moment guests enter the building, they can feast their eyes on one of the finest collections of original aboriginal artwork to be found anywhere.
